Anne Rice’s Fan Tour is a historical tour and literary tour in one. We included many many details from Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles and Mayfair Witches novels in our tour. But there’s more, we also include locations from the movie, “Interview with the Vampire”.
The creators of this tour are huge fans of Anne Rice and we created Anne Rice Fan Tours after falling in love with Anne’s rich and picturesque descriptions of New Orleans. Anne’s descriptions were so vivid and enticing, we joined the Anne Rice Vampire Lestat Fan Club and started a vacation saving plan to attend the Vampire Ball in 1998. We had a blast. We took a tour of Anne’s homes on St. Charles Avenue, 1239 First Street and St. Elizabeth’s (where she had her doll collection and Stan’s artwork.) Orphanage.
We visited many places Anne mentioned in her great novels. But, we wanted to see more. Several years after our first visit, some of us moved to New Orleans. Over the years we read and re-read Anne’s novels and went out and found hundreds of locations which Anne mentioned directly and indirectly in her novels. We included many of these locations in our tour. There are a few places that no longer exist; we gave them an honorable mention.
Anne Rice Fan Tours covers the Vampire Chronicles and Mayfair Witches novels at this time. A few of the places you will visit are the French Quarter, St. Louis Cemetery, Garden District, Lafayette Cemetery, Tremé, Back of Town, Faubourg St. Marie, Irish Channel, and Uptown New Orleans.
Use the Anne Rice’s Unauthorized French Quarter Tour to learn about many locations in Anne’s novels at your own pace. If your friend/partner is not an Anne Rice fan, don’t worry; they will learn the rich history of New Orleans.
